Private Well Water Testing
SEDHD offers free private well water test kits to help residents ensure their drinking water is safe. These test kits are ONLY for private wells and are not intended for homes connected to city or municipal water systems.
Private well owners are strongly encouraged to test their well water annually for bacteria and nitrates. While testing is not required, it is the only way to know whether your drinking water is safe.
This program is free to residents, with SEDHD covering all test kit costs. The only cost to the participant is shipping the sample to the laboratory.
If you rely on a private well for drinking water, regular testing is an important step in protecting you & your family’s health.
